The Art Of Miles Davis

Currently, a very interesting exhibtion 'The Art of Miles Davis' which features a collection of original drawings, paintings and prints created by the legendary jazz trumpeter is being staged at Dimbola Lodge in Freshwater.

The exhibtion also incorporates sculptures of both Miles Davis and Jimi Hendrix by leading British artist Guy Portelli. Both artists appeared at the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival.

The exhibtion is in association with the Miles Davis Estate and runs until October 17th. Also currently at Dimbola are Charles Everest's sperb photogrphs of the 1970 Festival and Gem Bell's eye-catching collages of Isle of Wight Festival's past and present. Chris Weston's photographs from the 1970 Festival are on display in the tea room , so all in all, it is a very fitting way to celebrate the 4oth anniversary of that event. Well worth a visit - see www.dimbola.co.uk for more information.
